Connecting Your Brain To A Computer

In new Research published in Nature Nanotechnology, a mini, flexible electronic sensor was injected into mice brain tissue. Once injected, it unfurled into a mesh structure, allowing the murine neurons to form connections and completely integrate with the implant, without any apparent damage to the mice. Through attachment by wire to a computer, researchers could measure brain activity in detail.

As bionic technology grows, building on similar breakthroughs, we may conceivably one day be able to both monitor brain activity in detail and incorporate artificial circuitry to repair or boost damaged areas.
